The 2022 Southeast Asia  Regional Conference 

Hello Fellas.

AJI Indonesia together with GeramM (Malaysia), CIJ (Malaysia), CamboJA (Cambodia), AJTL (Timor Leste), and NUJP (Philippines) will organize the SEA Regional Conference, 2022. This conference will be a space for multi-stakeholder collaboration to network and discuss press freedom, monitoring, and journalist safety.

 

The Southeast Asia Regional Conference 2022 will discuss current issues related to the development of media and journalism, especially in Southeast Asia. We present journalists, media practitioners, educators, researchers, press councils, advocates for press freedom, online communities, independent media organization, CSOs and International organizations.

Who may register?

This discussion is open to anyone interested in media issues, press freedom, journalistic security, and journalism in general. This event is open to students, communication professors, media observers, journalists, and media managers. The Southeast Asia Regional Conference 2022 is an opportunity to broaden networks, obtain up-to-date information, and obtain ideas and initiatives for constructing a more credible media and information ecosystem.

 

When and where will the event happen?

The Southeast Asia Regional Conference 2022 will be held on 12 December 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Cambodia/Jakarta Time). 

 

The offline meeting will take place in Cambodia, but only for certain invitees due to limited venues. But the quota is not limited for those of you who will attend the conference online.

 

What events and speakers will be featured at the Southeast Asia Regional Conference in 2022?

The following sessions are available for participation during the event:

 

1. Keynote speech

Time : 09.30 -10.00 am (Cambodia/Jakarta Time)

Topic : Mapping of Media Freedom in Southeast Asia

Speaker : Wai Liang Tham from the New Naratif, Malaysia

 

2. Panel Discussion

Time : 10.00 am -12.00 pm(Cambodia/Jakarta Time)

Topic : We fight back: Best experience on press freedom advocacy in Southeast Asia.

Speakers :
